First registrations revealed for 2021 British Kart Championships

The Wera Tools British Kart Championships are delighted to reveal an impressive list of registrations have been received for the 2021 series ahead of the opening meeting of the season at Clay Pigeon Raceway next weekend (21-23 May).

Kicking off their championship campaigns at the Dorset circuit are the Rotax, Honda and Bambino categories with a dynamic mix of returning champions and series newcomers bolstering the listings to build bumper grids for each of the action-packed classes.

Well over 200 karters have registered for the three categories, with Rotax fielding the Mini Max, Junior, Senior and 177 classes. The Honda Cadets and Bambino karters equally provide the close-cut racing associated with Britain’s premier karting series.

As predicted, the Rotax grids are as popular as ever with the Senior class-topping out at over 60 registrations this season. Matthew Higgins makes the switch from Junior’s to Seniors after a title-winning 2020, whilst Kai Hunter aims to go two better from his third-place last season.

The Rotax 177 class is another tightly packed grid and Henry Ayres returns to defend his crown after tying on points with Oliver Appleby at the close of last season.

Mini Max shows another bumper list, with returnees including Ben Crossley, Arun Phull and Harrison Crowther all eager to put their experience of last season to good use.

The Honda Cadet class proves as popular as ever with 40 contenders aiming for glory in 2021. Narrowly missing out on a podium spot last year, Joshua Grahams stays with the Honda for this season but will have Jenson Graham, Oscar Tumility and Timo Jungling also making a return to keep him on his toes.

With grids swelling once again in 2021, the ultra-competitive Bambino class for 6–8-year-olds will see last years 10th place Harry Neesam return to the grid in a bid to improve on his 2020 result. He will be chased down by at least 19 other contenders all looking for their own shot at glory, with Josh Cormack, Imogen Summerfield, Austin Oman and many more all equally eager for the top step of the championship podium in 2021.

Contenders in the IAME, TKM and KZ2 categories will contest their opening round at Shenington, Warwickshire on 28-30 May with a list of registrations available shortly.
