2024 Wera Tools Driver of the Day – Event 4 – Whilton Mill

Cast YOUR vote!

The Wera Tools Driver of the Day Award shortlist for Event 4 – Whilton Mill is now LIVE.

Now is your chance to vote for the driver who impressed YOU the most during the weekend, with the winner receiving the coveted Wera Tools trophy, a Wera BKC winners hat, a Wera BKC winners visor sticker, and a free practice session at the next BKC event.

The nominations have been made up of drivers that impressed the panel throughout the weekend and now you can play your part in deciding the winner.

Nominations are:

IAME Water Swift Restricted – Alfie Davidson

Davidson took his tally of final wins to four from four on Sunday. Continuing to assert his scoreboard strength over the rest of what is still a competitive IAME WaterSwift Restricted category with close racing throughout Event 4.

With Davidson’s consistency combined with his ability to soak up intense pressure at the front of the field, right now it’s tricky to see how anyone will take Davidson’s championship lead away in the second half of the season.

IAME Water Swift – Austin Newstead

IAME WaterSwift continues to be one of the tightest battles for supremacy in 2024. Austin Newstead showed strong race pace once again across the course of the weekend whilst looking to further solidify a spot in the top 10 of the championship standings.

Bad luck in the heats on Sunday meant a strong recovery was needed in the final. Recover Newstead did was a mammoth drive from the back of the grid into the top 10 showing once again why the BMR driver is so highly rated.

Honda Cadet – Ralphie Branscombe

Championship campaigns are often typified by the tough weekends as much as the dominant ones. Returning to the scene of his Honda Cadet ‘O’ Plate victory earlier in the year, Branscombe had to overcome technical issues on Saturday to pull his way back to a somewhat unexpected podium in the Round 3 Final.

With clutch troubles repaired by Sunday, Branscombe retained his championship lead with another battling performance to the rostrum in the Round 4 Final, his true performance shining through.

Junior X30 – Harrison Mackie

2024 goes from strength to strength for Fusion Motorsport’s Harrison Mackie. Yet another performance across the weekend where Mackie showed he has the edge on the rest of the X30 Junior competitors with his third Final victory of the season on Sunday.

Combined with strong points scoring through the heats, Mackie now has a strong 43 point lead in the championship going into the second half of the season.

Senior X30 – Gus Lawrence

After a difficult weekend at home-circuit PF International, all eyes were on the X30 Senior Champion of the last two seasons to see if he could bounce back and claw back precious points.

After securing his largest haul of points so far this season on Saturday, the King of X30 Senior showed he’s still very much a force with a Final victory on Sunday, becoming the 4th different round winner so far this year.
