Entries open for Rotax Grand Festival

Motorsport UK and Karting North East are pleased to confirm that entries are now open for the highly anticipated 2024 Rotax Grand Festival, set to take place over the weekend of September 20-22nd.

With three tickets available to the 2024 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Sarno available, the largest entry in the history of the Grand Festival is expected to descend upon the track known as the UK’s ‘Jewel of the North’ as drivers also seek to secure the E Plate title.

The first Grand Finals ticket will be awarded in the Micromax category as the youngest members of the Rotax family seek to join current Motorsport UK O plate and Rotax International Trophy Champion Joshua Cooke on Team UK. Whoever joins Cooke in Sarno will have big boots to fill as Team UK are the reigning and defending Micro Max Grand Finals champion courtesy of Jenson Chalk, who claimed the 2023 title in Bahrain.

The fight for the Mini Max ticket should be even more intense as British drivers have already claimed victory in this year’s International Trophy at Le Mans and in the Rotax Euro Trophy. Albert Friend and Emerson McAndrew Uren have already booked their tickets to Italy although competition at Karting North East’s Warden Law circuit isn’t only restricted to Motorsport UK licence holders. Look out for a number of overseas competitors to make the trip to the North East to take on Britain’s finest.

The third and final ticket available will be for Rotax’s Ultimate Class, DD2, and will be awarded to the winner of the Senior Rotax category. Despite not running the fearsome two-speed class as part of the MSUK Wera Tools British Kart Championship, the last time Team UK entered a driver in the DD2 at the Grand Finals, Mark Kimber sailed away for his third Grand Finals victory in Portimao in 2022 so there will be an added air of expectation for whoever takes the chequered flag first.

Although there is no Grand Finals ticket available in Junior Rotax, the lure of the prestigious E Plate will be enough to guarantee a capacity grid and drivers are encouraged to get their entries in early for all categories for what is regarded as the third biggest Rotax event in Europe this year behind the International Trophy and the Grand Finals themselves.

While regular visitors to Karting North East at Warden Law are well aware of the unique technical challenges that the circuit poses, newcomers to the track from all countries will be greeted by the same friendly hospitality that has made Warden Law one of the most popular stops on the British Karting Calendar.

The event will be supported by the UK distributor JAG Rotax and MOJO Racing Tyres.
