The Bambino class is specifically designed for 6-8 year olds to experience the sport of karting. The bambino class uses a kart that is the correct size and not to heavy for drivers.
The karts are powered by the Comer 50cc engine, the engines are prepared by Comer for the UK market to ensure they comply to the Motorsport UK regulations and have engine identification seals on both the cylinder and crankcase, these engine numbers must match the ones on the database of the UK distributors Zip kart and the numbers on your Comer C50 engine log card. This is to keep the level of tuning and selecting parts for engines to a minimum.
The class also uses the Motorsport UK Le Cont all weather tyre, which has been specially designed for the Bambino class in the UK. The tyre is a hard compound slick tyre with a wet tread pattern cut into it. This means that you only need one type of tyre for all conditions wet or dry.
To get started in the Bambino class we suggest that you try Bambino karting at one of the approved centres in the UK , as the class is new and still growing the number of approved schools is still growing, however feel free to contact us should you have any questions.
From 2018 seven year old Bambinos can race in Motorsport UK Championship competition, drivers must have competed in at least 6 Motorsport UK time trail events.

Honda Cadet – Ashley Haase
With the season now done, and a season of consistent results, Haase has been a driver who has improved the most since last year, not only with great results, but clean results too.
After a great qualifying, tough heats, Ashley would fight to finish P3 in the pre final and P4 in the Final. But most importantly finishing 5th in his second year in the championship.
Micro Max – Jenson Chalk
After a superb, clean and consistent race weekend Jenson Chalk takes the spot for MicroMax.
A close qualifying saw him start P4 matching the time of P3 driver Harry Taylor. With challenging heats, and a comeback in the pre final, Chalk would fight hard to finish on the podium in the final.
Mini Max – Harry Freeman
Talk about an up and down weekend, but for Harry his final would be an up.
After qualifying in P9, Freemans weekend would start to turn in to a undulating roller-coaster of ups and downs. With heat one dropping to P20 and heat two holding on to P9.
The prefinal would continue the downward trend, but come the final Freeman would gain 9 places to finish in the top 15 just 6 seconds behind the leader.
Junior Rotax – Leon Hastie
What a weekend for this young man, after qualifying P10 overall he would have his best weekend of the season.
With a great fight in the heats and gaining two places in the pre final, Hastie would finish just 0.27 seconds behind the nearly unchallenged Bishop to secure his first podium finish this season.
Senior Rotax – Kai Hunter
Not only a near perfect weekend, but finally a senior champion.
When a great weekend was needed most, Hunter delivered, and delivered well. With the weight of the championship resting on his shoulders Kai’s performance showed why he became champion.
With pole in qualifying, two heat wins, second in the pre final and a superb drive in the final he stood on the top spot a final winner and a champion.
