Outlining the calendar TKM manager Alan Turney said: “We have studied the results of the surveys very carefully and produced what we feel is a very strong program with plenty of choice for our drivers.
“We have also considered the continuing effects of coronavirus which hampered events in 2020. In agreement with Motorsport UK, we are therefore not starting the British TKM Championships until May by which time we hope for an easing of restrictions.
“We are also limiting the travel required as a direct response to the pandemic, though interestingly the circuits we have selected are very much in line with driver survey results.
Motorsport UK Karting Manager Dan Parker said: “We are delighted to announce the first BKC calendar of 2021. We have worked closely with Tal-Ko and its partners to include the British Championship rounds as part of a broader TKM events calendar for the 2021 and looking forward to launching the TKM British Championship battle in May at Shenington.
“The 2021 TKM calendar reflects the views expressed by competitors following surveys by the British Kart Championships and Tal-Ko during 2020. The racing in 2020 was as close as ever and we are looking forward to returning to some of the most popular tracks in Britain, as requested by our competitors.
“With the ongoing situation the Coronavirus, safety remains our number one priority and when we begin the new season, we will continue have the appropriate measures in place”
