Quick catch up: Top Mini Max Privateer – Daniel Amor

14- year old Daniel Amor secured the top Privateer honour in the Mini Max class of this year’s Wera Tools British Kart Championships. Accompanied throughout the season by his Father Ian, the “Dad and lad” duo enjoyed a confidence-boosting season with Daniel even scooping a Wera Tools Driver of the Day nomination for his performance and Clay Pigeon Raceway.

“My season started slowly” explains Daniel.

“I do not race during the winter months due to funding but I gained confidence and momentum during the early summer and by August I was running in the top ten on a regular basis. There were many challenges during the season but I feel my decision-making has improved during the course of the season and this will help both on and off track in the future.”

“I am extremely proud to be the best Mini Max privateer. Given the fact that we are strictly ‘Dad n lad’, racing our own equipment and our faithful four year old chassis, I feel I exceeded all expectations, and it was an absolute joy to finish ahead of some of the big team drivers regularly.”

Sadly, Daniel is experiencing a funding shortfall going into 2023 so may not contest a full season. But he is thankful for the support received in his current campaign.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to all my Karting friends and their parents for a great 2022 season. It has been a blast. I would also like to thank Darren Jones (DRJ Motorsport) for keeping the chassis fast and true and KR Sport for keeping an eye on my engines. I would like to say if there is anybody out there who could help keep me on track next season please get in touch!”
